Ace of Shades

Ace of Shades is the first book in Amanda Foody’s The Shadow Game series. The story is set in the City of Sin, where casino families reign, gangs infest the streets, and secrets hide in every shadow. Enne Salta, a proper young lady, arrives in New Reynes in search of her missing mother. With only one lead, Levi Glaisyer, she goes to ask for his help. Unfortunately, Levi is in trouble with the wrong people, and Enne is dragged into the dangerous underworld of the city. The book features incredible world-building, cinematic set-pieces, heart-pounding pacing, and unpredictable, deliciously messy characters. It has been praised for its rich, satisfying, and complicated story, and its shocking conclusion. Content warnings include high violence, mild sexual content, mild profanity, mild drug content, inferred (and highly condemned) pedophilia, and alluded parental abuse.
